Physical therapy agents have been a good treatment option for physicians for musculoskeletal problems from past to present. In recent years, with the development of different modalities in this field, it has entered into a daily routine and has become a highly preferred treatment method. Among these modalities, there are different options such as hot-cold applications, ultrasound, magnetic field, laser, traction, biofeedback and electrotherapy. Among these, electrotherapy applications, in which treatment is made with electrical current, are generally in the first place. Generally, electrical current is used for treatment at the cell and tissue level. Electrotherapy consists of low, medium and high frequency current options. Different current options also expand the treatment indication area. Generally, electrotherapy is a treatment method that has positive effects especially on muscle (healthy and denervated muscle) stimulation, pain control and tissue healing. The increase in the quality and variety of electrotherapy studies in recent years has also brought new application techniques. As a result, it is important to renew the information about the content of electrotherapy treatment, the areas of use and when it can be used. It is a plus for physicians to be closely acquainted with these treatment methods, which achieve successful results with the correct indication and correct application. © 2021 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.en_US
