Milk-based supplementation in wet and dry feed forms: Effects on growth performance, histomorphology, survivability, and economic outcomes in goslings
(Springer Science and Business Media B.V., 2025) Mutlu, Seda Iflazoğlu ; Seven, Pınar Tatlı ; Simşek, Ülkü Gülcihan; Erişir, Zeki; Baykalır, Yasin; Yalçın, Mehmet Hanifi; Mutlu, Muhsin
This study investigated the effects of supplementing starter diets for goslings with milk powder (MP), milk replacer (MR), and whey powder (WP) in two different forms (dry and wet) on growth performance, survivability, intestinal histomorphology, and economic evaluation. Early nutrition is critical in goslings, yet limited research has addressed how milk-based supplements influence gut development and economic outcomes in this species. Therefore, a total of 192 one-day-old goslings were randomly assigned to eight groups in a 2×4 factorial experimental design involving two feed forms (dry, wet) and four additive treatments (0%, MP-4%, MR-4%, and WP-4%). The experiment lasted 70 days. Feed form significantly affected the feed conversion ratio, with better efficiency in the dry group (P<0.001), while body weight, body weight gain, and feed intake were not significantly influenced by either feed form or additive (P>0.05). Villus length, villus width, and crypt depth were greater in the dry feed groups, whereas lamina muscularis thickness was higher in the wet groups (P<0.001). Among the additives, the WP groups had the highest villus length and lamina muscularis thickness, and the MR groups showed the highest villus width and crypt depth values (P<0.001). The most favorable economic outcome was observed in the Dry-WP group, which had the lowest carcass cost at 16.00 TL per kg, compared to TL18.63 TL in the highest-cost group (Wet-MR). Goslings in all supplemented groups (dry-MR, dry-WP, wet-MP, wet-MR, and wet-WP) exhibited a 100% survival rate throughout the trial, while slightly lower survival (95.83%) was recorded in the control groups (P>0.05). In conclusion, although milk-based supplementation did not significantly affect overall performance, it enhanced gut morphology and survivability. These findings suggest that WP, especially in dry form, may facilitate gastrointestinal development, enhance nutrient absorption and improve economic efficiency during the critical first three weeks of the early growth phase in goslings.

Sustainability of touristic souvenirs in destination marketing: Sinop case
(Hysen Mankolli, 2025) Karaçar, Ercan; Dinç, Yakup; Sarıoğlan, Mehmet; Şat, Rana
In destination marketing, souvenirs are known as tourism-related products because they are commercially produced and sold, as well as reflecting the cultural and traditional elements of the destination region and representing the brand image of the region. In addition to being a memory carrier of the destination region, tourist souvenirs are also known as indicators of people's tastes. Therefore, this study aims to examine tourist souvenirs and their sellers and reveal their impact and importance on destination marketing. Since Sinop has become an important tourism center for the Western Black Sea, it is a province with significant tourism potential with its remarkable nature and rich historical past. Survey technique, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. In this study, the souvenir shops of Sinop province were determined and a questionnaire was applied to the tradesmen who sell souvenirs and design souvenirs. In this way, original product suggestions have been developed that include the impact of the products offered as touristic souvenirs on destination marketing, the impact and importance of the sustainability of the cultural and traditional values of the region. In this way, in this field in our country souvenir and souvenir preferences, which is a subject that has not been emphasized, are discussed. It is aimed to make a contribution to filling the gap. In addition, with this study, local managers and local people have knowledge about the preferences of tourists visiting the region and it is hoped that it will guide them in their future studies. Endemic animals and plants, cultural heritage, geographical signs, important people and events, local handicrafts, historical events and people, local beliefs, local folk songs, etc. should be utilized for diversification and sustainability of touristic souvenirs in Sinop province. Utilizing touristic souvenirs is one of the easiest and most accurate methods for promoting the region with traditional and cultural products bearing its own identity. It is seen that touristic souvenirs in the region are generally produced by the artisans themselves, and some of them buy ready-made products from intermediary companies. It is seen that they represent the region where they meet the expectations of tourists at a high rate. Because one of the touristic products that local or foreign tourists coming to our country definitely buy such as rest, food, shelter is touristic souvenirs, even if the size, quality and material are different. For this reason, the issue of touristic souvenirs is very important in terms of country promotion, association method in destination marketing and sustainability of all values that carry the regional identity of the region. This research is important since there is a limited number of similar studies on the subject of touristic souvenirs and a similar research has not been conducted in the region before.

Comparison of the acute effects of static and dynamic stretching exercises on the balance performance of Turkish wrestlers
(BioMed Central Ltd, 2025) Durukan, Erdil; Aydın, Gökhan; Göktepe, Mehmet; Çiçek, Güner; Güder, Ferhat; Işık, Özkan
Background The importance of dynamic and static stretching exercises on motoric abilities before an athletic performance is well known. However, there is limited information about their effects on balance performance. For this reason, this study aimed to investigate the acute effects of static and dynamic stretching exercises on wrestlers’ balance performance and compare wrestlers’ balance levels according to their wrestling styles. Method A total of 28 wrestlers who performed dynamic stretching (n=14) and static stretching (n=14) protocols voluntarily participated in the study. Data were collected using Togu Challenge Disc 2.0. An independent samples t-test was applied to compare the data that were determined to show normal distribution. Results When comparing dynamic balance according to warm-up protocols, it was found that there was a significant difference in favor of wrestlers who performed dynamic stretching (p=0.023). However, no statistically significant difference was found between static and dynamic stretching groups in terms of static balance (p=0.238). Additionally, while a significant difference was observed in the wrestlers’ dynamic balance scores in both dynamic and static stretching exercises in favor of freestyle wrestlers (p=0.008; p=0.022), a significant difference was found in static balance scores in favor of Greco-Roman wrestlers (p=0.014; p=0.018). Conclusion Dynamic stretching exercises were found to support wrestlers’ balance performance more than static stretching. The results showed that the different warm-up protocols applied before training and competition can have different effects on the wrestlers’ performance. Therefore, it is suggested that wrestlers should prefer warm-up protocols including dynamic stretching exercises to optimize pre-performance balance outcomes.

An overview of triple-composed s-metric spaces with few fixed-point theorems
(Fuat Usta, 2025) Taş, Nihal
Metric fixed-point theory has received a lot of recent attention. The Banach fixed-point theorem served as the foundation for this theory. This theorem’s generalizations have been looked at using various methodologies. One of these entails generalizing the prevalent contractive condition, while the other involves generalizing the prevalent metric space. Numerous generalized metric spaces were defined in the literature for the second generalization. As a new generalization of both a metric and an S-metric space in this context, our major goal is to present the idea of a triple-composed S-metric space. We also provide some fundamental and topological ideas about triple-composed S-metric space. We look into some of this idea’s characteristics. On triple-composed S-metric spaces, we demonstrate various fixed-point theorems. Finally, we provide the system of linear equations with an application.
