Three new complexes were prepared from Cu(H) thiocyanate and bis-2,6(pyrazol-1-yl) pyridine (pp), bis-2,6(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl) pyridine (dmpp) and 2(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-6-(pyrazol-1-yl) pyridine (mpp). One of the complex structures was characterized using X-ray diffraction. Cu(II), within the NS coordination sphere, was seen to form a square pyramid and trigonal bipyramid structure. Decomposition of the three complexes was analyzed thermogravimetrically. Results showed the complexes to be more stable with comparison to Cu(SCN)(2).
